- Gypsum broadcast on prior to planting
- Blend applied at planting
- Kynopop applied on seed at planting
- Apply Solubor at 2kgs/ha through pivot at planting
- Urea - 100kgs/ha when maize is 30cms in height, 100kgs when maize in 1m in height and 200kgs/ha just before tussling
- Maize Oemff is sprayed on at not more than 5% concentration at 6-12 leaf stage
- Ammonium Sulphate & Muriate of Potash applied during silking through the pivot
Cultural Practises
- Aim for 60,000 plants per ha with a row spacing of 75cm for your irrigated maize
- Apply Gaucho on seed at 125g/50kg seed
- Apply Dual Magnum at 1,5lts per hectare with Karate Zeon at 200mls/ha with Aquaright 5 at 100mls/ha just before planting through pivot
- Apply Stellar Star at 1 lt/ha over top of crop as soon as broadleaf weeds emerge. Add Accent at 50mls/ha for shamva grass (not on seed maize)
- Apply Cycocel at 2lts/ha after 30 days through pivot
- Apply Ampligo at 250mls/ha or Cartap at 1kg/ha at first sign of fall army worm. Apply Thiodan through pivot at 1lt/ha at first sign of stalkborer.
- Apply Confidor 70 WG at 250g/ha if any sign of termites
- Apply Ortiva 250 SC at 600mls/ha at 45 days for Northern leaf blight.
- Apply Folicur 250EC at 500mls/ha at 60 days and at 85 days for Northern leaf blight.
- Apply Benomyl at 500g/ha during silking through pivot for fusarium
- Apply Karate Zeon at 120mls/ha for Heliothis at first sign of damage.
