Basamid® Granular

Basamid is a soil fumigant containing Dazomet (980g/kg), used for comprehensive soil sterilization and pest control before planting. This granular product releases methyl isothiocyanate gas when incorporated into moist soil, providing broad-spectrum control of soil-borne diseases, nematodes, weeds, and weed seeds.

Basamid is particularly valuable for high-value crops such as tobacco, vegetables, ornamentals, and nursery production where soil-borne pests can cause significant economic losses. The fumigant action penetrates the soil profile, eliminating pathogens including Fusarium, Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Verticillium species, as well as root-knot and cyst nematodes. When applied correctly with proper soil preparation and moisture conditions, Basamid provides a clean growing environment that promotes vigorous crop establishment and maximizes yield potential. The product requires a waiting period before planting to ensure complete gas dissipation and crop safety.
